Do you have a price range?
Nope. I only have 70 dollars, I get 10 every week (allowance) and on top of that, 50 every 5 weeks (deal I made with my dad). Also, my birthday is coming up, bla bla bla, I explained this earlier.

Holy stuff, you should seriously save up.

You can't buy even a decent graphics card with $70.

That's the reason why I need to buy cheap.

Bump.
I don't think that you could get a computer that runs XP for under 150 dollars. Are you dumb?

Buying even the cheapest parts would still cost you over $200 at least without it sucking incredibly.

I'm pretty sure you can't even buy anything more than maybe 512 MB of memory or maybe if you find a really cheap low quality brand of 1 GB memory and thats it.

My advice: Wait a year. The waiting with your allowance growing will help you accumulate a lot more and technology will have advanced another step.

Ffffff
Not gonna wait a year.

Well it's either that or buy a Pentium II processor and be barely able to run Windows XP itself.

No offense, but as a 12 year old you're not going to get far with this. I'm 15, have two jobs (and a third this summer) and barely have enough money to scrap together enough for a build. Besides, putting together a computer isn't as easy as some people make it seem: There is a certain degree of technical prowess involved.

Besides, by my calculations it would take 26 weeks to scrap together a meager build (around $600) and even 18 weeks to get together enough money to buy a respectable, but not good for gaming Inspiron or something like that from Dell. This is of course assuming you're going to recycle everything except the tower.

To get anything decent for gaming at high resolution and higher settings, you'd have to wait a year on your budget. This also means not buying anything. For a year.

Actually I built my rig of $500 with purely birthday money and some savings pitched in.
Is what happens when you have a rich older generation of family.

Also he's planning to custom build it, not buy a stuffty inspiron lol.

I have an Inspiron 518 with a Radeon 3450 in it. It can still run stuff (I can play most Source games well, Paradise City OK, Mirrors Edge, and Assassin's Creed barely)

But yeah, I've been saving since January and all I have to show for it so far is a GPU, case and PSU. I also have like, 55 bucks towards the rest of components.
