Author Topic: The "Clear Spam Script" seems to be losing its touch...  (Read 2908 times)

It just doesn't seem to be very useful anymore. I understand what it's supposed to do, but people just don't conform to what it considers spam anymore, in both ways. I see people who are definitely doing what people would consider "spam", but they just put it on a big 64x64 plate to avoid it being cleared by the script. And then visa versa, people like me, building gigantic intricate things floating in the sky on a couple of stacked 1x5s, and having it all deleted by an admin who doesn't realize this.

I know what's it's supposed to do, but not everyone is going to spam in that way anymore. The noobs do have some intelligence. Enough to figure out ways past the clear spam script. -_- What do you think? Do you think the clear spam script is still useful?

My poor space ship... it was almost done too... T_T

I only use the /clearfloatingbricks cmd that comes with it.
Btw it's "Vice Versa".

I think it's kinda useful, for cleaning up item spawns that people have forgotten about.

But i still hate it when i spawn a 32x32 cube, and build an island on it, they still say it's spam. :/

I hate it when people say ""It's not spam, it's on a baseplate."

I hate it when people say ""It's not spam, it's on a baseplate."
Same!

Things that are on a baseplate are easy to clear manually.

Nothing good is ever at the top of a pile of 1x1x5s.

I have only ever saw 1 thing that was good and not on a baseplate.

Then how would you make something float? It'd look just plain silly if all the space ships were on the ground. Putting it in the air makes it more interesting.

The example I used of myself is just that, an example. There have been times that I have just built something without a base plate, because it just... didn't need a base plate. And it would get cleared because someone used that script. It's happened to other people that I've been on the server with. Connecting with what GeneralSkar brought up, just because it's on a baseplate doesn't mean it's spam, and just because it's not on a baseplate doesn't mean it's not spam. I think people rely on the clear spam script a bit too heavily in the first place. :\

floating doesn't mean on top of an invisible 64x64, it means floating.

If you loaded say the cottage from bedroom at a slate map. THose bricks are considered "floating". Thus we have the clear floating bricks command.

Sorry for wording it that way. I'll try to clear up what I mean. "Bricks that are suspended in the air by other bricks that have been made invisible with the wrench". Hmm, not quite as catchy. Besides, actual floating bricks can then be cleared by ANOTHER script, as Mr. Bill mentioned.

It's not spam, it's on a baseplate. :cookieMonster:

The answers are simple.

Island: put a baseplate under it and then build
Spaceship: Baseplate, and a tower of bricks.
Mario red mushrooms: Too forgetin' bad.

You guys realize that spaceship supports are much better as 64x cube base plates, right?
