should I be concerned that there are always 3-4 svchost.exes running?
If so......red wire? blue wire? ocean foam green wire? which svchost.exe to END process?????

Hah!
I just ended all of the svchost.exe then a timer for shutdown started.
I said "forget this" and opened CMD
I typed in "shutdown -a"
Now, the virus barely seems to be doing anything! =P

Note: Shutdown -a is the command to abort a shutdown.

I use no AV software.
This. How do you people manage to get all these viruses?!

I use mine as a safety net.

Google it, there is a website somewhere that states how much memory svchost.exe should be using.
I would, as always, recommend running an on-line scan from Kaspersky and to download Malwarebytes and run a scan from that.

I have 13 svchosts running ;-;

1st: BitDefender Anti-Virus
2nd: Kaspersky Anti-Virus
3rd: AVG
4th: Norton360 Anti-Virus

There is no particular number or set amount of memory svchost should be using, it will depend on the number of services you have installed and what you need running. Anti virus software, drivers for your sound card, etc, will probably all bump up the number of svchosts running and the memory they use. Read this to figure out whether an instance of svchost is legitimate and what particular dlls it's running:

I use Some Microsoft security software

It means that there are lots of DLLs loaded into memory, which is normal.

I have a fair amount as well.

I fail to see how Norton got on that list.
Also, I don't appear to have any svchost.exe's running.
