Inventory Scrolling Problem

About a week ago I had a suckish desktop with XP. I just got my mom's laptop which has a plug-in HP mouse. When I'm on Blockland, I obviously need to use inventory. So I'm changing the controls and I don't even think about inventory scrolling ('cause it's automatic). When a get on a server, I get my inventory but it doesn't scroll when I scroll mouse wheel. I go in controls in he option menu and I can't change the control for inventory up or inventory down to mouse wheel.

also, when i'm loading a save i can't scroll, but if i take a picture, then the loading bar dissapears and i can scroll again :o
any reason to this?

I think it's because why you take a picture it gets rid of all the text and guis and stuff, so it just keeps it that way for the loading box.

Option-Controls, it should be on the right part.
