Author Topic: My ping is ALWAYS ???  (Read 992 times)

it just happened today that when ever i start my server the ping is ??? and no one can get on and it is Dedicated so please help me. my BL name is BlockStar (BLID 14698)

Get better internet. Or enable UPnP.

OK ill try with the UPnP thx  :cookie:x5

no it is not fixed =(

If it's dedicated, you will need to join through Query LAN. Everyone else can join through Query Internet, but because it's in the same network as you (LAN), then you have to join that way. Enabling UPnP through your routers menu should also fix nobody else joining.

Since I don't know how to do this UPnP, I port forward like before.

It's fairly simple.

We will start by making sure UPnP is enabled in your router page. Refer to your router booklet for information on how to access the router control panel. Once you are there, log into the control panel.

You will need a username and a password, which may be user set (by your father most likely) or they may be the default ones. If they are user set, ask your father for the 'router control panel login'. If they are still default, there is a 99% chance that the username is admin and the password is admin. If they are not, refer again to your router booklet for the default login details.

Once you are there, click on 'Settings' or 'Setup' or similar, then click on 'UPnP settings'. Click 'Enable' (to the fullest setting if more than 2) and then click 'Apply' or 'OK'.

Close your router page and try to host.

Find out the model of your router (not the brand, but the actual model number) which may be printed on the bottom. Google the following:
"[model number here] default username and password"
