Hey look thought-provoking thread is here.

So, is it good to be honest to anyone, even if it would ruin a relationship? Of course if it meant life or death, it doesn't count. But anyway, yeah.

I was honest to my dad about how I thought him to be of the immature peoples, he laughed, looked at me and walked away.

To be honest, this is a matter of opinion.

To be honest, this is a matter of opinion.

But opinions are yucky

But opinions are yucky
This is a opinion as well. And a very biased one.

Well the point of the thread is for asking people's opinions.

I say, if it's an important matter, you need to be honest, especially if they're going to find out about it anyway. Being honest about something is much less likely to ruin a relationship than keeping quiet and letting them eventually find out on their own.

If it's something minor, don't flat-out lie about it, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to hold back from being completely honest about it :P usually in the cases of opinions.
Generally the question "Does this make me look fat" translates to something to the effect of "Tell me I look good in this" (unless they actually look very bad in it in which case tread carefully.)

As said above, try to be really honest and polite as much as possible.

If you ever tell a huge lie, and then they find out about it... it's not pretty. Trust me.

Lying and being polite/nice can be pretty much the same thing sometimes.

So, it really matters what the situation is.
