Author Topic: VERY strange audio problem.  (Read 622 times)

I'm getting weird crackling, popping, and distortion on all of the audio coming from my computer. It's to the point where it's impossible to listen to music. Here's the weird part, it only happens when I'm downloading something. It seems the faster the download, the more it distorts. For example, a YouTube video only slightly crackles, and as soon as it finishes buffering, the audio clears up completely. But downloading something from steam that's going 1.7MB/s, it's almost impossible to hear the song playing in iTunes. The very second I pause the download, the audio clears up. I don't know how bandwidth usage can affect sound, but it does. Does anyone have any possible solutions for this very weird problem?

On a somewhat related note, I love my internet.

Is you internet wireless perhaps?

Sounds like your speakers are picking up the signal.

Sounds like it be the problem.

I'll try to go on wired as soon as a find an Ethernet cable.

Okay plugging into wired fixed the audio problem, but it lowered my download speed considerably.

On Wi-Fi in the OP, on wired:

I give up, I can't win.
