Author Topic: Blockland help with Linux  (Read 1395 times)

Hello I'm planning on switching my Operating system to Linux Ubuntu... and i was wondering if there is a possibility of getting it to work on Linux Ubuntu 9.10... because i want to keep playing and not quit. i love windows but i want to try something new... Any ideas or help??

I have heard of Blockland working on WINE; not being an avid Linux user, however, I am not too sure.

yeah i dont know what wine is

WINE Is Not Emulation.

I suggest looking into it =]

Tom

Blockland does not work on WINE. There is a workaround, but it does not let you host servers.

Could you please explain the workaround or tell us where to find it?

For my part, after showing the first frame, Blockland freezes. Picture shows v10, same with Blockland v14.

Sorry for double post.

Could someone please post a workaround for this? I really need to get Blockland working in Linux... Tried the client_Winefix, it didnt work...

Do you mind adding a function that does nothing in addition to WebCom_PostServer that is called before/in the WebCom_PostServer()? WebCom is protected and is unpackageable.

I need to be able to package it so that Blockland would work on Ubuntu Linux. WINE crashes when the remote host closes a connection, whereas I can change it so that the client terminates the connection first.
I sent this PM, never got anything back.
This would make hosting possible.

Yea i found a temporary workaround: disconnect from internet :P i think this has been posted before though i only need singleplayer atm so it works for me... PM please if we get some updates on this issue...

(No modify button :S)

Update: i got the main menu working, but now when i try to start a single player game, it crashes with the following lines: (no console log)
Code: [Select]
Loading compiled script base/server/scripts/DamageTypes.cs
Loading compiled script base/server/scripts/allGameScripts.cs
... Shape with old version.
When that happens, blockland freezes and it displays a message Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error saying:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Help?
