Author Topic: Unable to identify graphics card  (Read 1118 times)

Alright.

This old computer has an Intel D8456VFN/D845PEMY Motherboard. The graphics card is integrated. No other information can be found about it.

I can't find the correct display drivers for it at all. The computer is stuck in 4 bit resolution at 600x800... Help.

Read the manual. I sure hope you tried to go to Control Panel.

There is no manual.

Display settings in control panel can't identify the graphics card or monitor (Just says "Monitor on' for graphics card)

I just changed my monitor to 480x640 256 colors for fun. It's like I'm living in 1994!

Do you know the model number of your PC?

Huh. Well, that's it for me.

Yes, but MDG (A little-known computer company in Canada) doesn't have a model search on their website.

Mine only goes down to 800x600 with 16 bit color :c

Usually Vista/7 automatically finds and installs video drivers.

I know with Windows 98 and virtual machines, that there is a bug that it won't install default drivers for the video card without a patch.

It's not virtual, it's a real OS with a real, stuffty MDG computer
