From my (pretty bad) experience, you can't get a good laptop for that much. Maybe if you build it...
Building a $300 laptop would cost you over $600.
You should make some more monies so you can get a laptop. That's about the range of a net-book.
You might want to check craig's list or another site and buy it from there or something.
