Author Topic: Portal has Source SDK, yet it DOESN'T have Source SDK?  (Read 935 times)

Well, I was on Steam when I noticed a source mod that caught my eye. So I clicked on it, and found out information about it. I when went to download it. One thing. It said I required a source game. Portal has Source SDK, I've checked. So I clicked again, thinking it was a mistake. Same thing. Now I'm pissed, because it says that Portal will work, but First Slice won't work. Does this mean Portal DOESN'T work?

By what I read, you're trying to use the Portal demo as an SDK game, which won't work.

No, the actual game is what I'm using.

First Slice =/= Portal.
First Slice = Portal demo.

Source SDK doesn't mean you have that game. SDK stands for Source Developer Kit, meaning you have the (pardon the pun) source files of the game to make your own mods with it. Having an SDK and the game itself are two totally different things.

Ah. I see. So basically I can't use Portal to play any source mods?

No, the actual game is what I'm using.

Sure its not the free one you just downloaded before may 24?

If you got it fee, it doesn't work.

Why didn't you download portal when it was FREE?

I downloaded it when it was free. asdf.
