This isn't very new, but seeing the blind praise makes me want to voice my opinion.

I hate it.

It's unimaginative, unoriginal, uses the same format used in half of their songs, and dare I say corny. I don't like the drums, but that's not something I can complain as much about. What I don't like has nothing to do with the Rev's absence. The songwriting seems to be catering to a simple minded audience. It has nothing memorable, and the solo is quite boring. To make matters worse, the band is whoring the advertising for it and claiming it to be some of their best work. I know they're trying to recover, but having a gigantic ego will only push long-term fans away.

That's where I stand.

Found the problem.

I like their older music. Maybe I've developed my taste and still enjoy it for nostalgic reasons alone.
