James, try pressing "Query Lan," it's right next to "Query Internet." Yours should be the only server to show up, unless your brother or sister is also hosting. If there aren't any servers up, then I don't know what to say. Sorry.

I do that but I should mention that im playing from a mcdonalds right now

Local Access Network will find servers on your computer and on those on the same network. You go to your dedicated server with Query LAN. It does not matter that you are on a laptop. Why are you trying to host from McDonald's?

When you join your game, instead of pressing Query Internet, press Query LAN.

if you join through LAN then how do other people join your server?
