Ok so my dad bought a new subscription of Norton for this year, and I installed it right away.

Immediatly boot up a scan and find that all the research Game stuff i've downloaded contains...

141 Tracking cookies

and 18 Trojans

Holy stuff, when I bought this computer I said to myself Id keep it clean of all this stuff, and I honestly dont know how this crap got on here.

So Norton or macafee?

And if you've had virus or technology failure discuss it here.

I heard McAfee just bottles up the viruses and when it expires it lets them out.

Norton thinks loving EVERYTHING is a virus

Norton thinks loving EVERYTHING is a virus
the uninstall file of cortex command is a virus

I have norton, the most I've had on my new [and stuffty] laptop were a few tracking cookies.

Looks like we'll need a :cookieMonster:.

Open fire fox

Click on tools

Click on "Clear recent history"

Click on "cookies" and set it to clear all cookies ever gotten, and click accept.

You guys can't hack for crap I got Norton :cookieMonster:

Ya it freaked me out mostly. First thought was "Is it tracking my keystrokes!?".

Then I calmed down and figured out I hadnt put any credit card info or anything onto the computer so...

Also my brother burned through all of the xboxs in the house, Literally he played both of the xboxs I bought to the ground. Or you could say he played each xbox for 5 straight hours and gave them the red ring of death. Yay stupidity and forgeting to turn on the overheat prevention system...

Ya he owes me like 500$ now >:I

Best program is Avast. Free version doesn't have real time protection but it will stop any malware processes. It will find any malware/spyware/trojan/bagel on your computer.

Microsoft Security Essentials. Made by Microsoft for their operating systems.

Norton says that it has saved me from 3 hacking attempts....

I don't know. Stop going on research sites, etc.

Tracking Cookies are NOT potentially dangerous.

They're tiny information files stored on your computer from websites to keep information such as your "Remember me" sessions, shopping carts, and many other things.
I'm absolutely sure you would rather these files be stored on your computer and referred to by the website rather than having the site store the file on itself with reference to your IP, you realize you have a dynamic IP. It gets changed and someone else using the same ISP happens to wander off to a site you use, and gain access to your account.

Tracking cookies are harmless. They are just annoiyng if you didn't turn off "scan tracking cookies".
