I need a base script that changes the datablock and adds an image.
Im not that good at scripting.
I have looked at other weapons with alternate fires, none of them change the datablock.

I'm not sure if I understand your meaning. As a guess, I would say take a look at the Old School Rifle. It's script changes player datablock and moves the viewpoint.
