Well first of all,you may have problem with your steam every day and have tons of windows the problem is solved after the next update because you will have all chats in a window and you will change tabs to go to each chat.
To be a beta tester, right click steam icon --> Settings --> Scroll down and there that says Beta Participation change it to "Steam update"
