Author Topic: Bass players in movies.  (Read 456 times)

Okay, in most movies that I can remember their being at least one bass player in (the reason I'm making this thread, Scott Pilgrim) they feature one minor and easy to overlook detail that I, as a bass player, notice and one that kind of pisses me off.

They all use picks.

Now picks aren't the worst thing in the world to use for bass. It's not like it's a completely inaccurate depiction of bass players, but I feel like it's so rare over either finger picking or slap and pluck that it's kind of odd to see it featured in most movies with bassists.

It's a really minor issue, but it baffles me why the director or the writers or whoever is responsible for such a minor detail would choose to give them a pick when most bass players just play it with their fingers.
