Author Topic: Port Forwarding - Airport express  (Read 1595 times)

Okay so, I got a new router today, Airport Express. Yet here's the big problem with it.

1. It's a bitch to get it to loving work on my mom's computer

2. When I try to set a static IP Address through airport utility it breaks my internet connection.

I set the 3 computers in my house different static IP's.

My dad's 10.0.1.3

Mine 10.0.1.2

And I tried to set my mom's to 10.0.1.4 YET. IT DOESNT loving CHANGE RIGHT.

What happens on my dad's and my computer is this:

But what happens on my mom's piece of stuff 8 year old imac is different

It has no IPv6, Only IPv4. And for who the forget knows why it makes you have to enter in your DNS server IPs.

So wait, to portforward I have to loving call my ISP?

I guess. That is really loving stupid.

Anyway, When I give up trying to set the other two computers static IPs, I try mine alone.

Doesn't loving work. I set it to something like 10.0.1.4 that would normally work and isn't being used by the other computers, and it breaks my loving internet connection. So I can't port forward being that I need to use the IPv4 address but it changes since it's a dynamic IP Address.

What the forget am I supposed to do if I can't set it to a static IP without being unable to connect to the internet?

Take in mind my router's I.P is 10.0.1.1.

It loving sucks because I can't set a static IP which means I don't have a single IP that I can set as my private IP address for port forwarding.

So what am I supposed to do that can fix whatever reason when I set my static IP my internet gets forgeted?

Actually, I managed to figure out how to change it on my mom's old computer, YET it does the same thing of dropping the internet connection like it does in the other computers.

Well, after major headaches and frustration I figured out how to set a static IP without loving over my internet.

I forwarded port 28000 to IP 10.0.1.5 and it doesn't work on blockland.

What now?

stuff. I figured it out. I had to forward 32 more ports and bingo things worked.

The HOW TO PORTFORWARD FOR MAC guide is stuff and I think I should write my own.
