Two days ago my computer broke and wouldn't start up again with some kind of memory/RAM error. After moving various parts around a lot to no avail and turning it in to a repair place it's recently it's turned out that it will take several days before they can even find what the fault is.

Basically during this time I won't be in-game or replying to nearly as much here as typing it up on the Wii internet is very slow...

Oh dear.

RAM problems are always the worst IMO :(

I'd guess fried hardware?

Though I don't see how your RAM could get fried...

Just download some new ram.

RAM can get corrupt and/or 'fry'. It's happened to my old old build once. 1GB Kingston stick, they offered to replace it but I was about to get my old build anyway.

What type of RAM?

What type of RAM?
Kingston 1GB DDR2 667 MHz I think. Single stick. It's dead and its in a dump now.

The thing is that it's got two sticks of RAM, not one, and I've got it to start up then crash 5-10min later with each one (BSOD that disappears after a second), so it's not just one of them broken. I think it's the motherboard or possibly the power supply.

Hopefully there's just a screw loose :o

Erm, computers don't work like that.

Had the same problem. But for me, 4 sticks of RAM, one gave itself brown town and decided to give me a BSoD. After extensive freaking out I removed that stick and now it works again. Joy.

As for you, if you've tried what I did and it failed, then you're going to need to research it a bit more... It sounds like a motherboard problem.

Uh, I think he's saying he hopes it's nothing too serious
