Author Topic: Computer Problem  (Read 1119 times)

OK, my computer has been fine until now. When I start my computer, the normal booting screen doesn't show. My monitor just continually flashes "SELF TEST-CHECK YOUR PC AND SIGNAL CABLE-MONITOR IS WORKING". My graphics card is an ATI Radeon X1650 which replaced an nVidia GeForce 4 MX 440. I have inspected the computer but I'm not sure of the problem. Help?

Did you just put the ATI one in today or have you had it for a while.
Also just to make sure if you have another monitor you should check the card with that one too to see if its the monitor.

If you can't figure it out you could bring it somewhere that works with computers.

Had it for about a year. Also, before someone says 'umm how u postin then??', I'm on my PSP.

If you happen to have a spare monitor test the card on that one. If you get a picture then it was just the monitor but if you don't the GFX card probably died.

Bump, I don't have a second monitor.

What is the card's interface and what is your motherboards interface?

Maybe the card is PCI-E 2.0 and the motherboard is like 1.0.

That would be my best suggestion too, since you don't have a second one then just take it somewhere that will test/fix it.

That's the only computer in your house?

Nick, I'll check.

Heal, it's the only desktop computer.
