Gift Ideas under $300?

I was thinking of getting a new PC but the lowest priced one is $499 and that did not have an OS.  I do not have any ideas of what I should get.  My specs are:

Windows XP 32bit
1.25 gb of RAM
25 gb of free hard disk space
Nvidia GeForce 9600 512mb GSO
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 ghz

And ideas?  I could also ask for a few upgrades but that would be hard to act surprised when I find Windows 7 64 bit and a few more divers and a CPU.

I found a Barebones kit from TigerDirect here.

I think it is good I can just buy my own OS and I can put in the Nvidia card in and there I got a decent PC for gaming.
