Author Topic: Real quick laser question  (Read 1530 times)

Nope. Its a scam.
I gurantee that those laser will output about maybe 80 mW.

SO no. Please look at my laser topic, for recommended lasers and stuff. Please NEVER use any thing but special laser eye protection. I tested both welding goggles and sunglasses. I managed to pop balloons, and cut tape, shining the laser, through the goggles. So it just goes to show...

If you've never had a serious laser before ~>25mw then I'd suggest starting with a 100-150mw one. 125mw can pop a black balloon from up to four feet away, by the way.
That sounds extremely boring

I can see you falling for something like this a couple months ago. Now they even sell 1 Watt lasers for $200.

See, you can't get that much power, in a housing like that, it's a scam. And no. Welding goggles aren't safe. I don't care how much light it blocks out. If I can burn something, shinning it through them, Than it can damage your eyes. Your eyes, aren't worth any ammount of money, so just go buy some laser goggles.

Also no. Looking at even the dot, WITH welding goggles, will damage your eyes.

So can a 50 mW.
Just depending on how good the host is. I could pop a blue balloon from 8 feet with a 50 mW. Yeah, but dren is right. If you've never had a laser before, start with something small.
