Author Topic: How can you tell if a video needs a certain codec?  (Read 611 times)

I recently downloaded a video, and I don't have the right codec for it. How can I tell what codec it uses?

I looked into the properties, and can't find a thing. Please help if you can.

The end of the file?

such as .avi or .wmv

google it.

Those aren't codecs. Normally when certain stuff is recorded, you can use codecs to reduce video size, without necessarily lowering the quality. Problem is, to watch them, you need the same codec. I downloaded a video off of youtube, and I don't have the right loving codec.

Right well, I have no idea.

Download K-Lite codec pack full.

You will never need to worry about having the right codecs again.
