Author Topic: Web Hosts  (Read 807 times)

Spock and I are looking into getting a webpage and I'd like to know if anyone knew some good ones. This is a legit page not some stupid freewebs thing ok? Cheap is good. Not cigarettegy is good.

I use IPower. They run Apache servers, so you can use PHP, Perl, HTML, and all that good stuff. If you want, you can pay a little extra for Windows hosting and get ASP also. They also provide unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth, about 2500 e-mail accounts, FTP uploading and an on-line file manager, and MySQL hosting. My plan is about $70 per year. I have never experienced any down time, and I currently have 3 websites hosted with them. By the way, you can host multiple websites on the same account. Each domain is $10 a year. For more information, go to http://www.ipowerweb.com/

000webhost is the best free host I've found. I know people suggest it a lot, but thats only because its so good. It has all the tools you need, supports a variety of different webpage types and other systems (PHP, MySQL) has your standard FTP upload details and also an online uploader and modifier (say, you find a typo on your page, you can just edit it immediately without having to reupload) a subdomain provided. You can have multiple sites too. Its all free too, absolutely no advertising, and the server speed is decent. 1,5 GB of disk space, 100 GB of data transfer, cPanel control panel, and an optional website builder (hosting is their focus, the builder is just an optional thing).

Or try 0fees.net. Thats not as good, but its an alternative.

Bump, I'm now interested in this 000 site.

Yeah, the free domain is www.yourdomain.000webhost.com, but you can easily set it up with a free domain like co.cc, 000webhost provides nameservers.

Weebly is a great hosting server. I wish i found them before webs. I now think webs is complete stuff. I have a free plan with them. I experienced 0 downtime for anything other than matience.

If you want to try the weebly: http://www.weebly.com/

EDIT: Space and bandwidth max are unlimited.

I was think about somewhere in the distant future that I could make a web hosting service. I have yet to own 100% of the hosting.

I see so many crappy hosts where the limit things that they don't even need to limit.

godaddy.com
All the traffic they get is from their handicapped ads that 12 year old boys look up on the internet.
