If you want to stream or record something using Dazzle, do you need the Pinnacle Studio set up on your computer/laptop?

No, I use Veedub.

You don't need Pinnacle, but you can use it if you want.

You just need something that can get the video from any video device and use Dazzle.

of course, for some reason the audio doesn't import into Vegas for me

It's actually called VirtualDub, sorry.

The shortcut says Veedub.
