Author Topic: How do you upgrade your video card?  (Read 628 times)

I recently got windows 7. and installed minecraft, garry's mod, and blockland. But they all require a better video card. I checked what manufacturer i have for it. But it just says (standard display types). If anyone has had this problem and fixed it. Could you help?

Oh, you'll have to open your computer and possibly change your PSU, and if you may even need to get a new chassis, and possibly a new motherboard to fit that chassis.

Are you using a laptop first of all? Because you can't upgrade a laptop if you are.

You can, but not if it's integrated.

However, 80% of all laptops are integrated.

None of my games are on that :o. And I upgraded my chipset from Intel. So i probably have an Intel video card

Install this program:

Give us your motherboard manufacturer and model. Then go to the graphics tab, look for your card, and give us the name of the card and the bus interface if it's listed.

If you have trouble finding anything, just go to file, click save as text file, and attach the text file to your next post. This will give us all the information about your computer. Make sure you remove the line that says "Serial Number: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX" from the text file because as I recall that's your windows key.

No it doesn't.
To simpletons such as myself, what jumped out at me first was "BUY ME, BUY ME, BUY ME!!".

I didn't see an option for standard either, just home edition and business edition. :s

I wouldn't have recommended it if it wasn't free :)

What they're selling is actually a "priority support account." I have no idea what this does or why you would want to buy it, but all of the software itself is actually free.

My best guess is that it's something you'd want to use if you were a business, if you've got defraggler deployed on 300 work stations and it stops running for some reason, $34 a year is a bargain for support when you consider actual labor costs.

Not to mention relying on donations for your only means of financial support for software development is, well, unreliable.
