Author Topic: I really love scam companies, when they mess up.  (Read 821 times)

Has anyone ever got the call where a man Indian accent asks you too type in "Eventvwr" to run?(don't do it)

What they do is they ask you that you've got a hell of a lot of problems on your computer, and they say it's got viruses/malware on.

Just to let you know they a scam company and they're ringing up random people of the world saying to enter this into your run bar.
They attempt to gain the your trust by having you open eventvwr, then get you to buy their software and give them your credit card number.
Oh, be warned, they ask to someone over 18 and the owner of the service provider.
This is also very widely known: http://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=psy&hl=en&q=eventvwr+phone+call&aq=2&aqi=g5&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=2ee2b439b550ea98

What happens if your mom/dad take the call and don't know what there doing?

Well, I would call them morons, explain to them what he is trying to do, correct them. If they don't believe me, I shall show this thread.

I win.

What does eventvwr do anyways?

I believe it opens a log that allows access to others, and the Indian mans software takes that log and forgets you up.

i never get the calls but it always happens on the computer to me.

if they fall for it they are idiots and should be treated as such

I actually fairly recently got this call, and I live in Australia.

The number's still in my caller ID, it wasn't masked.

Funny, when I did 1471(to get the number) it was blocked. So I couldn't ring him back.
They want you to open eventvwr and if your not a techy genious
They'll say "Look at all them problems." What they want you to do is to buy a product to fix that, but it's a virus product.
Also it has been said that the company has hacked other computers.
