GIMP Effect Help

Well you see that sorta effect on my avatar that makes it look pressed into the page? well i know there is some way to do that in GIMP, can anyone who knows how help me do it?

It's called "Impression" or something similar.
It's what the do with coins.

"Emboss" maybe.

bump map?

go to filters > map > bumpmap
then choose your settings, make it look cool, and save.
there's also a bump map effect in filters > light and shadow > lighting effects, but this one has a lighting effect applied to it and shadows.
