Author Topic: Master Server Broke?  (Read 2053 times)

I've been hearing from friends my server is not on the list, Galaxion, a friend has his server up ever so on and tells me to get on when I don't see it on, although he says hes up. I refreshed a ton of times and restarted and found it yes, but thats a hassle.
Who or what broke the servers.

If you can load the forums properly, the master server is fine.

He forgeted something up, not Badspot.

Servers recently have been having some problems with authenticating to the master server list, I know that mine won't until someone joins.

It needs a client to authenticate servers sometimes for some weird reason.

This means you have to join by IP if it's not on there.

I've been getting DNS errors all over the place.

Do this if your server is down:
webcom_postserver();

I've tried that already and it didn't work.
Like I said in my topic, I needed someone to join, such as myself.

Now I know what's wrong with mine. Is there a easy way to get your io from blockland or do we have to go through the hassle of whatsmyip.com or whatever the hell its called?

If it's your own server, then you can just use 127.0.0.1:28000

If you're getting someone else to join, then yes you'll have to use a site like that.

Or you can try and guess your ip...

Not if you don't host from your computer, which considering if you were and it wasn't dedi, then you'd be in it already.

REALLY!? WOW!

I had the same problem for a while dill, Until my brother told me to change my
port in Advanced options try that possibly.

We also get DNS errors on our BL-Server. Sometimes they even freeze/crash after it.
I discovered 3 different messages until now:
1.
Quote
Authentication FAILED: DNS error.
2.
Quote
ERROR: - Authentication DNS Failed.  Retry 1
BackTrace: ->servAuthTCPobj::onDNSFailed
3.(often together with a crash)

No user/host entry in master server, re-sending authentication request
Authentication: Sending Initial Request...
Authentication: Connected...
Authentication: Sending Response...

Until now i thought its a problem on our side, since we are hosting up to 5 server at time.
But it seems that others get these errors too.
Next thing ill try is to enter the Masterservers IP in windows Hosts file...

Why didn't you just do that in the first place?

It's really annoying when I have to connect to my server by IP.

No bro, I can host fine, thats why I say some people can join and whatnot. Its just that sometime it shows as unidenified and I have to tell them to refresh and all =P

And thanks for the other comments bros and sis's, and Cyborgs...
