Author Topic: An experiment with print bricks and water.  (Read 708 times)

I didn't know if I should put this in gallery, or in general discussion as its not really a build.  Anyway, on with the topic.

So, I've been using the four high print bricks as windows for awhile, but the thought just popped in my head what if I use print bricks and the water shape FX for water?

And so I did.   This is the result,
Normal water:

Print bricks with water shape FX, placed on top of water:

The water with the print bricks looks better, in my opinion.

However, it is a little spammy as I didn't have any large print bricks to use.

Just thought I'd share, discuss.

Rookie taught me this neat trick with a bunch of transparent 1x1's in front of transparent (but colored) 1x#x5 bricks :D

Looks good.

Never thought of this.

It's been done before, but typically on water that's one third of a brick deep, as when you get under it and look up you can see all the individual bricks.

True, but it can make for a neat affect underwater, sometimes.

This was done before...

Also, it carrys too many bricks so I usualy do it for small bodies of water (Like a sink or tub) but for a pond, lake or ocean... May god have mercy on the server and all its people lol

Should I just edit a tile brick addon file to be huge or something?

Too bad the water FX isn't in it's own paint slot, and undulo isn't the same with different sized bricks.

Name the plate water, duplicate the pond, and set an event for
Code: [Select]
Onactavate > Namebrick [Water]> ShapeFX [Water]

Cool but yes, does seem a bit spammy.

Yeah, I'm editing it.
