Author Topic: Something Wrong With the Master Server?  (Read 1841 times)

Everyone on RTB is saying, "The master server is down!!!" and that. It's kinda like an emergency radio when you can't go onto servers.
And, yeah, I noticed the forums are slow this morning too. Couldn't authenticate, waited twenty minutes and it was still going "Validating key...".

If this happens again, check using this if its jsut you or if there's a problem.

or i can just, you know, go to another site to check if i can connect.

There was a point in time where I could not connect to RTB, but everyone else could.

I would laugh if it was under a DDo-

Wait, the Return To Blockland site was getting SQL due to overload of connections. Is it possible it was targeted at them. :U

AHAHAHAAHAA

Read what he wrote ffs. It says SOMEONE ELSE on the same network switch was under attack. This was not targeted at Blockland.

The problem with RTB was an oversight on my part, when you start up RTB it needs to verify you with the BL auth server (which was down) which meant the user hung on a timeout of 5 seconds and it retried 5 times, so about 500 users were holding open connections for about 25 seconds which messed things up a bit with the connection limit on our db. I've changed things up to stop this happening in the future.

i think that we've avoided real hackers thus far is commendable.
