Author Topic: What is "bumping a topic"?  (Read 1011 times)

Don't call me a dumbass for asking this but, I don't know what it means.

When a topic is at the second page or maybe low first page, posting in it would "bump" it to the top of the forum board. That's a bump.

When your post brings a topic to the first page.

It means posting in a topic that is a day or more older

Though people tend to bump a topic on the same day, but it's on a different page

To say something to bring attention to a topic that is losing it's popularity

You say "bump" in your post.
I say "bump for grate justiec!!"

The labor and lives of countless billions of souls have culminated in the device that sits before you.  It effortlessly connects you to the sum total of all human knowledge.  If you merely ask, it can lay upon you a terrifying access to knowledge heretofore reserved only for the gods of myth.  And yet you do not ask.  Such is the defiance of man.

But I have not given up.  Like Prometheus before me, I see the potential under your oily wretchedness.  As he brought man fire to illuminate the world, so I bring you knowledge to illuminate the mind.
