Author Topic: Getting models in/out of blender  (Read 1671 times)

So i DL'd blender as well as google sketchup to create models for adding on to blockland. The problem I am having is that everytime i try to import into blender I am told that python is missing a .dll file. I tried uninstalling python and blender and reinstalling both but no success. I could just make models in blender, but alas, python wont work to export for above mentioned reason. Is this problem fixable?

What version of blender do you have, and what are you trying to import?

Blender 2.49b for 64bit windows. trying to import a test thing i was working on

k, what version of python do you have?

2.6.7, but i changed to 2.6.1 because thats what blender said it was running and it didnt work either

crap, you'll have to wait till tomorrow before you can get an answer.
My best guess is that you installed Python incorrectly.

ok, any help would be great. I'm not in a hurry, like i said still experimenting with sketchup, then i gotta learn how to code things into blockland(different post).

You didn't restart your computer did you?

That is the problem. Sounds cleche, but that's it.
After you install Python and Blender, you are required to restart your machine.

well, i have blender and ive made a model and saved it into the add on folder and it shows up in add ons ingame so it could work without python

Did you export it?
Or did you not?

Does blender say "Checking for installed Python... got it!"? If it doesn't say that, you'll have to set the PYTHONPATH first.
Google it if you don't know how

Yes it says found python. The only time it gives and problem is when i actually try to load the file, then it goes down the list for python files and gets to a point where it just says "file not found"
