Ya, it was a decent CPU like three or four years ago.The rest of your desktop is horribly crippled at best so I would just save the money.
Ew celeronpersonally, I have a terrible experience with a Celeron processor.I open paint and I get 100% CPU usage.I recommend something else, how about this?
budget CPU
Pros: Dual core, runs cool and quick. Scores a 6.0 in Win7 x64's rating system. Granted, this is not a very telling benchmark, but it does handle Windows 7 very well. This is nothing like the old Celerons. It is quicker than my 1st generation Core2Duo E6300. BIOS says it's running at about 25° C (before I installed the OS).Cons: Can we do away with this plastic pin heat sink business?Other Thoughts: Put this together with an ASUS P5QPL-AM board, 4GB of GSkill DDR2-800, 320GB WD hard drive, Antec case and PSU, Lite On DVD burner, and made an excellent home machine with Windows 7 for right at 500 dollars, including the OS. Highly recommended processor for standard duty home/office machine.
Cpu: Celeron E3300 Wolfdale 2.5ghz (3.3ghz oc)Gpu: Gigabyte gtx 460
Newegg and Amazon customer reviews are worthless for future reference.
I dont disagree, but why?
