Author Topic: Stopping Programs Lauching at Boot.  (Read 550 times)

Well, I have a pretty big issue, because Steam and some other programs I have start-up the quickest they can, and it gets annoying to turn them off because they take up my CPU and RAM.

The programs are:
Steam
Skype
Windows LIVE Messanger.

Do you know how to make it so they don't run at boot?

What kind of computer do you have?

Also I think Steam and Skype have options where you can make they not start up when you start up your computer.

All of them.
Settings.
Do you have a lack of common sense?

The programs all have settings to disable that. Figure it out on your loving own for Christs sake.

Consider the only settings for the most annoying (Skype), only had settings that had to do with changing your image or chatting with others, I must be stupid.

It's the fact that I can't find these. WLM doesn't even have a settings bar (unless you log in?). I'm asking this because I am not sure.

I have Skype and it doesn't start up on boot. Obviously you have no loving idea what you are doing.

Start > Run > Msconfig

that's all I'm going to say.

I have no idea what my sister has done.
I have never used Skype for a stuff, so she has done something with it.
Plus, I'd rather accept some minor help instead of blatant insulting because you know something and I don't. Not everyone is as smart as you.

Uninstall it then. If you don't use something, don't have it.

If you go to options on Skype there is clearly something that says "Start Skype when you boot your PC"

For Steam you go to "Interface" and there it says "Run Steam when computer starts"

As for WLM you go to "Options" and there it says "Automatically run WLM when I log on to Windows"

I hope I was able to help you, unlike some.

Thank you very much.

I hope you were a complete kiss-ass, unlike some.

Start > Run > Msconfig > Startup

that's all I'm going to say.
Still, QFT

Thank you very much.

No problem.

It's called maturity.
