This thread is kinda pointless but thought I would post it cause it seems some people have this problem.
Anyway, if you are recording with a normal microphone it's too quiet and can't get it to work, I found a solution. Buy a USB headset. I have a Logitech one but I think other kinds will work. And you can change the sound to play though the speakers and not the headset.
