Server Downloading Problem

Everytime I join a server it checks for the files it needs to download, as usual. It says something like, checking CDN or whatever. But for whatever reason, everytime it checks and it starts downloading, it has to download thousands of files. Almost ever server I visit I have to download around 1500 to 3000 files. I just don't understand it. I am only downloading sounds, music, and textures.

I never really have to bother with something like this, I only have download textures active. I would say that that IS the total of all of the files that you have to download, unless you de-activate some downloading options.

Reading that makes me wonder what happened to the "Download Item Shapes" option, or if it was removed due to the new download system.

But see... what you said doesn't make sense for me. Because I could join a default add-on freebuild and it would still be the same. :/

Hm... Does the download bar go really fast? Because it might be a glitch or some sort of read error. I had a problem like this a while ago, but it fixed itself after I messed with download options a bit.

also, your cache file might be rebuilding each time
