How do I recolor a weapon?

I wanna recolor a weapon so I can use it in a TDM I plan on making. You see, I want to make kind of like a "Human VS Predator" like TDM. The stalkers would bear an all black outfit including helmet and have pale skin. The map will be dark and I think it would be easier for the stalkers to... stalk if their weapons were black(mostly black anyway. ) How do I recolor weapons?

Extract the addon into a folder, and take the .png files and recolor them with MS paint.
Then create a new .zip folder and shove it all in there.

And if the colors are scripted to be that color, there should be something in the code with the name of a .png file and vector values near it.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
