Do servers bypass firewalls?

I need permission from my parents in order to go online, so i decided i was going to start a clan where we frequently had meetings online.
but she says that a firewall is protecting our router, and she needs to know if blockland bypasses the firewall.
i tried hosting a server for 20 minutes, and no one joined.
help?

It cannot bypass firewalls, you need to allow it inthe firewall settings.
