What the hell computer

Alright so for around a week my computer has been annoying the stuff out of me. I'll be doing something and randomly my start bar will turn grey and it looks really bad. The top of my internet browser looks really loving stupid too, I have no idea whats wrong. Also when this happens, I can't get sound out of my stereos. The only way I can fix this is to restart my computer, which is getting really annoying. Does anyone know what's wrong? Pictures at the bottom.

It looks like the classic theme for windows XP.

I use XP and usually it's blue.

Try running a virus scan. It never hurts when your computer is acting weird.
