I tried it with zombie gamemode, works great. Don't use too many zombies though.
Whoa. Could you try it with ZAPT?
Would be pretty good, only possible problems are:
1: You'd need none of the people playing to be idiots.
2: What happens when you've cannibalized every structure?
Other than that, a suggestion for that would be to give everyone at the beginning a gun that sucks, but has unlimited ammo, and scatter guns around that are good, but have limited ammo.
Also, maybe try to incorporate parts of the Stranded mod into it? Like, you need food every once in a while?
For number one, well..
Uh.
There's no real solution to that one. However, keeping player counts at around 4-12 would probably work if kill icons were kept off. A player would have to somehow be a leader in order to command other players regarding the area. As for cannibalization limits, there could be a rescue time like in ZAPT, which would require players to survive for a certain amount of time in their fort until rescue is possible. However, the players would have to cannibalize buildings in order to enforce their building against approaching zombies.
The starting gun idea sounds like it would work wonderfully. It would perhaps be a better idea to use T+T2, giving players a starting Pistol/SMG/Shotgun and melee weapon, and then giving them a large amount of ammo for that weapon. This would be supplemented by a misc. ammo pile in the starting base. It would have to be placed in the base so it couldn't be removed though.
The food mod is also a good idea, but how would players get food if food cannot be spawned as an item?
The only sources of food would be an event-based dispenser, since there are no items I know of that can work with the food mod. Gasoline/ammo are more feasible resources because gasoline spawns wouldn't have to be moved, and ammo spawns could be moved as items.
Intresting, if you need any features added, just ask me.
Wow, thanks!
