To my knowledge, any tripod will work with any camera, as long as it's not one made specifically for a single camera.
Wal-mart should have some tripods.
Targus is good.

I just bought this last week. Arrived a few days ago, and can keep up my film SLR camera just fine, so it should support a digital just fine. I suggest it, especially for your first tripod.
