Author Topic: How can I increase my FPS rate in Fraps?  (Read 826 times)

I'm trying to record some Minecraft videos, but when I record it goes to 2-5 FPS.

How do I increase this?

Change the codec, look up a tutorial on YouTube. All I have for now.

Upgrade your computer.
FRAPS is very cpu heavy, and will most likely slow down any game you record unless you have a nice computer.

Boschitt, I use my half decent laptop for recording with hyper cam of all things, and it works fine.

There are many good tutorials, but no one in specific comes to mind. Sorry!

First of all, that's HyperCam. I was talking about FRAPS. They are two different programs that work differently.
But, IIRC, Fraps has to record the game frame by frame at your requested frame rate, then compress it down simultaneously then save it to the hard drive.
It is definitely CPU heavy.
