Author Topic: Brother's laptop will not boot  (Read 457 times)

I have googled, but can't find anything of this particular situation so don't be a moron and say "HUR DUR GOGOLE IT"

Basically, my brother's computer DOES start up. It goes to a black screen with two options. "Run windows normally" and something along the lines of "Start windows repair" and selecting either wont work
Selecting the repair option just brings up a popup about some system restore thing not being installed properly
Running windows normally just resets the thing. My brother said that there is nothing that can be done, but I'm determined to get it fixed for him. No he cant reset the system to factory settings. Thanks in advance

Start windows repair and then leave it for a while. Once my laptop did it. I clicked it, waited for a while until leaving it on the Start windows repair screen and then eventually it said something like 'Your system has been restored, you may now restart your computer.'

No safe mode option?

When my laptop did this it wouldn't let you do that. : /

I leave it for a while and the popup comes up saying that something couldnt be installed and the computer must be shut down

Format and reinstall Windows. If not possible, the HDD may be damaged and you'll need to get it replaced.

This happened at school once

Knowing our stuff tech, they did NOTHING

Did he delete system32?

Nevermind, he needs a new hard drive
