Need help, cant change color of blocks

I've very new to this, and I'm having trouble changing the color of my blocks. I do not know what happen, last time I was building on here I had no problem changing color. But now no matter what I do the blocks stay black. I have even tried laying down new blocks in a new color, and they just are black. The spray can color is always black, even if I choose a different color in the color menu. Can someone help me?

In Advanced Options, make sure "Brick exterior is paint color" is checked.

Press ~ while in Blockland. And type in and/or copy and paste this:

resetlighting();

This should fix your problem.
