problem with counter strike

When im playing counter strike, and someone uses their microphone, sound starts playing out of the speakers when i have my headphones plugged in. and if i unplug them then plug them back in they still dont work unless i restart the computer

All the sounds play on the speakers even when my headphones are plugged in.
even when i quit the game.

Any help?


also, some of the weapons have black parts on them

Also it isn't game breaking, it's not like you can't shoot with it anymore

I've noticed with Team Fortress 2 if i have my headset plugged in before i start up the game, all sounds will come from the headphones, but if i plug in my headset after the game is started up, all sounds will be on the speakers except noises coming from Steam, like messages and voice chats, voices coming from the game will continue to play on the speakers

Maybe it's that way for all Source games?
