Why would it be better if it had it's own model? That would just cause another download for the clients.
Besides, it doesn't really matter as it doesn't seem to be designed to be used with the original, but rather either as the "only" weapon (insta-gib DM/TDM) or as an admin utility. Besides, if you want an original model for it so badly, DIY.
