Author Topic: Sudden 64 packets/sec sent to a client  (Read 550 times)

As you know, I have a Dedicated Hosting Service.

I'm having a problem, all of a sudden, packets will be sent out to a client on a server at 64 per second, every 3 seconds, 5 times. It appears to use 100% of my bandwidth (100mbps), thus giving little bandwidth to anyone else. Here is a part of the packet log:

Now, the server being connected to is Count's server, and the client connecting is FrostBite. The fact that the the subsequent packet load happens 5 times in a row, also matches the fact that when a client connects, 5 addresses are tried (some matchmaker thing).

This happened about 4 times yesterday.

I realize that this is a pretty short-term solution, but why haven't you just banned the IP address on the firewall-level?

That's what I did, but this is a legit person.
