Author Topic: Bulk Image Downloader - Help detecting Wikia images?  (Read 6894 times)

This is set up to download many images at once off a page. I was attempting to use it to get all the signs and such off this page: http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Test_Shaft_09 But it's only detecting some of them. You can write in your own exceptions and such into this to find images better, but I have no idea what's preventing most of these from not getting the full size images.

The system uses Regular Expressions and such. Could anyone help me understand how to work around this problem and get all images downloaded? At first, I thought it was only galleries not loading, but it seems some are.

I am attempting to download all images off the above page. However, only 19 of the images obtain a full size version. At first, I thought it was a gallery problem, but I noticed some images are from galleries. As I am unable to determine the problem, I request help with this
.

Prolly skiping some source, Check the source code, if you can't find it it can't.

Uh, what? I checked everything, I don't see why most images aren't getting full linked. The pages are showing full resolution... I'm so confused...

I could help more if i wasn't using a 3DS...

And why can't you not use that? Also, I want a 3DS. The way people talk about 3DS' web browser makes my DSi look like dooty. :panda:

Truthfully, the 3D feature is neat, but my 2004 PSP can do better (it has Adobe Flash), this only has more memory. Also, I can't help as much because I can't veiw Page Source on this.

What is the browser on the 3DS anyway?

Mabey Opera, That's what it was on the DSi

I'm not a moron, I understand the 3D. I've tried it, and it isn't why I want it. The whole system has more power now, it has been given a lot more potential. And it has improvements I'd love over my DSi.

I looked up what the 3DS used, couldn't find anything. But I found some article saying it won't support flash and wanted to break out laughing. I mean, did they really expect it to? Whoever thought that noteworthy is a moron.

But back on subject. Someone help me figure out why BID isn't finding the images? I'm thinking, if I have the right Regular Expression, this can be fixed.

I think the 3DS uses some version of Opera.
Most Nintendo products do.

Skip, back on topic please? :panda:

Wow, I didn't expect that. They actually updated it with a fix. I just tried the new version, and all the images worked beautifully. I should check my email, they probably sent me a response.

Hi

Thanks for the email.

Add this line to your include list (advanced config):
**<wikia.nocookie.net></images/thumb/>

It tells BID that any image link containing "wikia.nocookie.net" and
"/images/thumb/" is a thumbnailed link.

Kind Regards
Dominic

Ah, wish I fully understood that, but yay!
