I've been playing quite a bit Cortex Command recently. Really damn addicting game, and the mods are fun too. Got my the "Milk and Cookies Man"mod and now every fight is filled with calorie and sugar laden grenades, and cute little crunchy noises every time a C&A unit of mine falls.
The C&A mod dropship is a bit pathetic though, seeing as it struggles to even move on it's own weight, let alone the weight of other units. Guess that's what you get for basing your tech solely off of sugar. :P
I got the Cyborg Zombies mod, Spectator and Battlegrounds. I started a spectator round on the battlegrounds map, made both teams order units and then dropped a zombie on a green. He got infected, burst and the infection went wild. All of this was done while still in the editor. The battle was basically Red vs. Green vs. Zombies. Zombies always had the upper hand.

If the Terms were actually followed, this forum would have half the topics and posts it has now.

Quite possibly, but it doesn't mean y'all have to be nasty to each other.  Build your own social contract, if you must.  Doesn't have to be this one.

Anyway, folks should look at this thread as an opportunity for community-building.  If it sucks, it'll die fast and no one will have to deal with it, anyway.  No need to pay it any mind.  If it's good, on the other hand, it just makes y'all detractors look like jealous asses.

Oh wait, that's what you're accusing Jacob/Lee of being, right?

Cortex Command

What's the basic idea of that, anyway?  I keep hearing it get titledropped, but I never learned much about it.

This forum has some sort of nasty "we hate each other all the time" facade, which is sometimes true but sometimes we're like a family though. Rarely, however.

yes a family that murders every baby that is born into it, unless it shows signs of being not totally handicapped.

Strategy defense/offense game built along a 2d engine. What you'd usually do is do certain mission objectives through means of trying to keep you "brain" alive, which is a robot or container you use to control other units like soldiers and such. Things like mining out gold gives you money in which you can call an orbital drop of weapons or units. However, since the development dropped (I think?), it's now just the engine and a few missions and basic weapon and unit stuff that came with it.
However, considering how easy the dev team made it to mod, a whole bunch of mods took off and are easily used as gameplay as themselves.

Cool it, punks, and for goodness' sake stop calling each other friends unless you're trying to identify each other for sloppy makeouts/expressions of Queer solidarity.  Getting so angry so fast, and making so many assumptions of bad faith, will solve nothing in your discussion.
I like the way this person thinks.

Huh.  I thought I'd seen that game played before, but it must have been something else.  Maybe I'll check it out someday, after I've seen what Europa Universalis is like.

Thanks =)

LEGO is a broad topic.
Yes and no, lego includes lego, and while there are alot of lego sets, thats one topic. However i will admit it does have a broad part, user creations. This still doesnt change the fact that you are makign a topic that has anything that relates to games in it.
